HP introduce the innovative HP iPAQ Data Messenger

The HP iPAQ Data Messenger is the one of the latest additions to the HP range. Better known for PDA and PC products HP are venturing into the phone market with this accomplished offering. Based on the iPAQ PDA the phone comes with a whole host of useful features which will no doubt prove popular to the consumer looking for an alternative to the usual style of mobiles.

The phone utilises the Qualcomm MSM 7201A 528 MHz processor and the Microsoft Windows Mobile® 6.1 professional operating system. This ensures that the handset is able to process tasks quickly and efficiently.

The HP iPAQ Data Messenger comes with a 2.8 inch TFT touch screen which operates at a pixel size of 240 x 320 pixels. The display screen is able to display 65,000 colours and as such ensures images are shown in a vibrant and colourful fashion. The inclusion of the QWERTY keyboard is an added bonus and one that seems to be appearing more and more in phones.

The handset comes with a 3.15 megapixel camera which operates at 2048 x 1536 pixels and comes with auto focus and an LED flash. This ensures quality of image as far as possible whilst providing sufficient illumination.

The phone provides a host of connectivity options which include Bluetooth, USB, GPRS, EDGE, HSCSD and HSDPA and Wi-Fi. The latter are used for its internet connection and operates at speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps. The Wi-Fi enables the user to access hot spots located around many public locations. GPS is provided which ensures that finding a location is simple.

The iPAQ Data Messenger is 114 mm x 57 mm and is 17 mm thick. It weighs 160 grams which means that it feels sturdy. Additional elements include versions of pocket office and a media player. The phone has an internal memory of 128 Mb of RAM and 256 Mb of ROM whilst the memory can be expanded up to 8 GB by using the microSD slot. The phone offers a wealth of functions and is also stylish in design. It is a welcome addition to the mobile phone market.
